Why We Still Love Old Things

There is something strangely comforting about an old object. A scratched watch, a faded photograph, or a wooden chair can carry a history that no brand-new replacement ever could.

Modern technology makes replacing things easier than repairing them. When something breaks, the instinct is often to search for something newer rather than understand why the old thing mattered.

Perhaps that is why people still keep boxes of forgotten belongings. They are not necessarily keeping objects. They are keeping little pieces of time.
